Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

Our jewellery and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

If a product has a minor issue, we will repair it within a reasonable timeframe at no additional cost. If the issue cannot be resolved within a reasonable period, you may be entitled to a replacement or refund.

If a product has a major fault — for example, if it is significantly different from its description, unsafe, or unable to be repaired — you may choose a replacement, refund, or compensation where applicable.

For services provided by SVA Jewels, any issue caused by our workmanship will be addressed promptly and fairly in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

Manufacturing Warranty

Rings – Engagement, Wedding & Fashion Rings

SVA Jewels provides a Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty on engagement rings, wedding bands, and fashion rings from the date of purchase.

What is Covered

Our warranty covers manufacturing faults relating to the craftsmanship and structural integrity of the jewellery, including:

  • Manufacturing imperfections in the metal
  • Faults in stone setting workmanship
  • Visible finishing issues identified upon collection or servicing
  • Structural defects caused during the production process

If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, SVA Jewels will repair or replace the item at no cost.

 

Fine Jewellery – Earrings, Bracelets, Chains & Pendants

All earrings, bracelets, chains, and pendants are covered by a 24-Month Manufacturing Warranty from the date of purchase.

This warranty applies to faults caused by manufacturing or workmanship issues under normal wear conditions.

Items outside the warranty period may still be repaired; however, repair costs will be assessed individually.

 

Gemstones – Lab-Grown Diamonds, Lab Grown Gemstones

We provide a Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty on the quality and authenticity of lab-grown diamonds, and lab grown gemstones supplied by SVA Jewels.

Exclusions

The warranty does not cover:

  • Accidental damage
  • Chipping or cracking caused by impact
  • Loss of stones
  • Theft or misuse
  • Damage caused through everyday wear

 

Warranty Exclusions

Our manufacturing warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or damage caused by improper handling.

Examples include:

  • Scratches, dents, or surface wear from daily use
  • Bent, worn, or damaged claws/prongs
  • Stone loss caused by accidental impact
  • Damage from chemicals, cleaning agents, chlorine, perfumes, or cosmetics
  • Metal discolouration due to environmental exposure
  • Damage caused by external jewellers or unauthorised repairs

Precious metals naturally wear over time, especially rings worn daily. Regular maintenance and inspections are strongly recommended to help preserve your jewellery.

 

Warranty Claims Process

If you believe your jewellery has a manufacturing fault, please contact SVA Jewels with your proof of purchase and details of the issue.

After speaking with our team, we will arrange an assessment either in-store or via secure postage.

Important Information

  • Jewellery returned by post should be packaged securely with all accompanying documents.
  • Shipping fees for assessments may apply and will be advised before processing.
  • If the issue is confirmed as a manufacturing defect, repair or replacement will be completed at no charge.
  • If the damage falls outside warranty coverage, a repair quote will be provided for approval before any work begins.

 

Please note that repairs, resizing, or alterations completed by another jeweller may void the SVA Jewels Manufacturing Warranty.
